A little bit more about me…
I look for a company that knows what Human Factors and HCI are without having to Google it. A company that is honestly trying to create something that helps the world in some way. A company that knows UX is more than throwing visual design at the problem and calling it done. For me, visual design is part of the solution not THE solution.
I truly understand that every business has to make a profit to exist, but if you are just frantically trying to figure out how to sell more stuff as a primary goal, then I’m not the right designer for your team.
I am perfectly willing to burn the midnight oil now and then for a challenging deadline or emergency. It can actually be quite exciting! However, I don’t think it’s healthy to make this the daily norm. Even in an Agile environment, design and dev should be able to move forward at a brisk yet methodical pace. Making rapid progress depends on being willing to adapt to situations, balanced with having the courage to make design decisions and stick with them. No amount of research will give you the right answer. No amount of competitive audit will either. At some point you make the design call given the best knowledge you have and move forward.
If you’ve read this far, wow! If you haven’t been deeply offended by anything above, and are in need of a UX/UI/Product Designer with a broad skillset, let’s chat! Oh, one last thing: I’m also very good at remote working.
Cheers!
